Surprise!

Well, many of you have asked why our midwife was only 80% sure we were having a girl, and the reason is because we're having a boy! The umbilical cord has been in the way our last few visits, but today it moved and we all saw what is undeniably a little boy. I wonder if this is the reason I didn't feel like any of the girl names we were talking about felt right, even names I've always liked before. Greg is of course excited to have another boy, although he was quick to point out to me that a girl would have been ok too. I'm excited for Will to have a little brother. I'm sure they will be great partners in crime! So far this kid is measuring 4 days bigger than his due date, so hopefully he'll stay right around there and not be another huge monster for me to carry (and deliver)!

WOW! I was all excited that you would have a girl for your second (just cause we have a boy and then a girl), so I'm surprised to hear that it will be two boys instead. That will be fun though :) I bet they will be good buds. I'm curious if there is a specific reason you've has so many ultrasounds? Or were you checking again just to see if you could tell the gender for sure?

Oh BOY!!!! Well, at least you found out well enough in advance. No big suprises on the delivery day. That happened to a girl I work with -- they told her a girl, so they painted a nursery pink and everything, and she gave birth to a boy. That will be so fun to have another boy though -- especially since they are pretty close together.

The midwife I go to is in an office that is I think is a little overkill with technology. They do an ultrasound every visit. I go along with it just because it doesn't hurt anything, but I think it's a little silly. The office has 3 midwives and 4 doctors and has quite the corner on the baby market in this area. It's the only midwives covered by our insurance around here, so that's where we go.

I totally thought it was a boy all along!
